Rope Rescue for skiers and Splitboarders

This past weekend we offered a free rope rescue refresher for locals. We had twelve people show up and we covered the principles setting up a rappel, 3:1, 5:1, 6:1 and 10:1 haul systems, rope ascension, counterbalance lowers and tandem rappels. I find the fall is a great time to tune up your companion rescue skills. If you're in the Kootenays and would like to do a refresher, we offer private instruction for groups of three or more for $150/person/day

Winter 2025 Trip Offerings

Undoubtedly, winter is my favourite time to explore the mountains. There is nothing like moving through terrain with a pair of skis on your feet (splitboarding is pretty awesome too). Here are a few trips that have some spaces left on them:

Finnmark Ski and Sail

We'll be sailing approximately 200 nautical miles over the course of April 14-20,2025 through the fjords of Finnmark.

Ski Mountaineering Basecamps

Basecamps are some of the highlights of the winter. Set up shop in an epic zone, somewhere deep in the mountains and ski with a daypack. Honestly, it doesn't get much better.
